True That! Double True! A couple of weeks ago, Cur had a housewarming party featuring this amazing feast from Buca di Beppo's. And salad. And chips and dip. And dim sum. And pumpkin bread. Mmmm...pumpkin bread.
Sorry, had to wipe the drool off my face. I got to catch up with some high school friends and meet Cur's med school friends, her current coworkers, and her uncle's family. I also got to watch TV on Cur's kickass new entertainment system. She has a gynormous widescreen TV. Gynormous. While I was there, I saw the now famous "Lazy Sunday" music video on SNL. It cracks me up...here's a link to the video.

Christmas Time Is Here. Yep, it's that time of year again. Because my opinion matters, I'm going to list some non-traditional (read, not super old) Christmas songs that I like:
- All I Want For Christmas Is You
- Christmas Time Is Here
- Feliz Navidad
- The Christmas Song
- Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas
- I'll Be Home for Christmas
- Last Christmas
- Santa Baby
And the one song I absolutely cannot stand during Christmas (I don't know where my complete and utter dislike of this song comes from...it just IS that way):
Consider yourself enlightened.
Yum, Pickled Pig Lips. I recently discovered Steve, Don't Eat It!, which is basically one blogger's culinary journey. Mind you, it's not like a "flying first class, staying at 5-star hotels" kinda journey. More like a "maybe we can find something in that dumpster" type of thing.
Chunky. As in Campbells' Chunky Soup. I found the tone in this columnist's take on the McNabb-NAACP thing kinda funny.
Speaking of "chunky," I got the chance to see some Marshall people I hadn't seen in a while this past week. Of course, all such meetings centered around food. Sar, C-Pow!, A-Cash, and "Allo?" showed up at Tadao and Chia's engagement party-slash-potluck. Shimi, "Allo?" and I had dinner at Don Antonio's where Shimi kept pushing me to pick up what he dubbed "the biggest tostada salad ever" with my bare hands. C-Pow!, Chia, "Allo?", and I met up with the ERS All-Stars (Pem, A-Cash, and Tadao) for dinner and a belated birthday celebration for A-Cash (thanks to Chia for the cake).
On the Mend. I got sick the Sunday after Thanksgiving and have been slowly recovering since. Things I have learned:
- While Northern and Charmin toilet paper can double as facial tissue (for nose-blowing purposes), the same cannot always be said of bulk-discount-warehouse brands. Ouch.
- Cold-eeze. Pretty good stuff.
- Kimchi will clear the nose, but will do no good to a sore throat.
