Chasing Butterflies The Natural History Museum in Los Angeles, in conjunction with Robinsons May, is having a butterfly exhibit called "World of Butterflies." Here are two pics of what you can see if you go.
I am, like, so cultural and stuff.
The Misadventures of Neener, Queen of...well, Nothing On Thursday, Tadao and I (as we have the same birthday) hosted a dinner at ChanDara, a Thai restaurant in West L.A. known for having "film-worthy" waitresses. When I was first putting together the guest list, I was expecting a couple of people to be unavailable, and a party of approximately 12 or so...what I didn't expect was over 30 people RSVPing! It was like a mini Marshall reunion! It was great seeing everyone and catching up on what people were doing.
Anita and Chris gave me a nice card, Wes and Jacqui gave me a very utilitarian card (which included a fake cockroach carcass -- useful for getting free meals in restaurants), and BDK and Luda gave me a card which implied that my driving skills are quickly going downhill. Which is not true. Well, maybe a little true. But not very. Chang-er (my Japan PRIME buddy) and Chandler got me a book entitled "The Big Bento Box of Unuseless Japanese Inventions." So thanks to all!
After dinner, Thad and I headed two doors down to the Arsenal for drinks. But when we left, I discovered the valet at the restaurant had closed up shop and left (along with my keys...as in car keys AND apartment keys. This is why you use valet keys, people!). They wouldn't be back til 5:30pm the next day. AAARRRGH!!! So I had to call Dubya and ask her if I could crash at her place and get a ride back to the restaurant the next day.
I stayed at Dubya's that night and spent the next day walking (in uncomfortable shoes) about Brentwood. I didn't make it back to my apartment until 7ish last night. They say absence makes the heart grow fonder, and they say it because it is true. I missed my couch. I missed my comforter. I missed my laptop. I'm getting all teary-eyed. Excuse me, I need a moment to collect myself.
