And the winner is.. I was surfing the tube when I hit upon the Discovery Channel's "Greatest American" show (not to be confused with "The Greatest American Hero," which is something else entirely), where they let people call in and choose who they think is the greatest American EVER! And the winner was RONALD REAGAN! He beat out Abraham Lincoln, Martin Luther King, Jr., George Washington, and Benjamin Franklin. Sometimes I forget that I do not share the same views with the majority of Americans, and so shows like these are nice, gentle reminders. The best part was when the host, Matt Lauer, asked one of Reagan's kids to comment on their dad winning the title. The kid basically said (I am paraphrasing, of course), "Wait, you picked my dad? What the? Uh, well...Thanks for picking my dad...He probably won because you guys don't know your history and picked the only guy whose name you've seen in the news recently."
